Best of the INFINIDAT Blog 2016

At the beginning of 2016, the INFINIDAT blog debuted. Over the course of the year, the blog has featured different voices from our tremendous team of experts. From thoughtful industry commentary to technical deep dives into INFINIDAT technology, the blog has become a great resource for interesting perspectives on enterprise data storage. Before we look ahead to 2017, let’s take a moment to look back at some of the posts that represent the best of the INFINIDAT blog in 2016:

Flash Before My Eyes: Why Fast, Reliable Inexpensive Enterprise Storage is an Existential Threat by Brian Carmody

Last week at FAST16, Google presented an awesome white paper stating that “disks are the central element of cloud storage,” and “the cost per GB of SSD remains too high and that cost differential will not change in the coming decade.” This week, EMC responded with a press release that “commits to all-flash for its primary storage offerings, relegating traditional disk to bulk and archive storage requirements.” Not surprisingly, CIOs are confused about the future of storage. So why are two large tech companies articulating contradictory visions?

INFINIDAT Named a Visionary by Gartner — Continues to Disrupt the Storage Market by Steve Kenniston

Gartner has named INFINIDAT a “Visionary” in its 2016 Magic Quadrant for General-Purpose Disk Arrays1 for the second year in a row. It’s no wonder really when you consider the company was founded by Moshe Yanai, a visionary leader in his own right, who is often referred to as “The Godfather of Storage.” Add the provenance of our team, and over 120 patents filed (60 granted to date) and we believe it’s clear INFINIDAT is revolutionizing the traditional storage array and storage practitioners are taking notice.

This post will discuss how INFINIDAT’s unified solution can be used to serve the storage needs within an OpenStack cluster.

When I think about the provenance of the INFINIDAT team, the first thing I think of is a team of people that probably has had a hand in developing a majority of the storage systems that are deployed in data centers across the world today. Even if they didn’t develop the specific array, they developed something that is a part of a patent that is in the array. This team knows storage.
